About Me

Where are my manners? Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Richard and I’m a twenty-something Computer Security Student at the University of Birmingham , and I also work for the IT Service Desk as a Service Desk Analyst. Recently, I’ve been accepted on a PhD with Tom Chothia and Mark Ryan , assessing the Cyber Security of the UK Rail Network, and the ERTMS standard, funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, Network Rail and other partners, in a collaboration between the School of Computer Science and School of Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering at Birmingham. I also started on a training programme within IT Services, working to become a Developer and Workflow Analyst on our ServiceNow platform.

There’s a lot I am interested in, either influenced by what I’m studying, or what I encounter in everyday life. Why not have a look at my interests page to see what I’m interested in, or at the projects page to see some example projects I have undertaken recently.

Thanks for visiting!
